Internships

Gain valuable real-world experience during two courses Fashion Internship (FDM 491) course. As part of your capstone experience you’ll become more knowledgeable about potential careers and better prepared to pursue future opportunities. 

Bonus: Internships often lead to full-time employment and career success. 

If you’re a Fashion Dress student:
  • The three-credit-hour course is available during the summer and fall semesters
  • You’ll spend six consecutive weeks at your internship, completing 120 hours
If you’re a Fashion Merchandising student:
  • The six-credit-hour course is available during the summer and fall semesters
  • You’ll spend eight consecutive weeks at your internship, completing 240 hours
Successful completion of the capstone course is accompanied by a variety of assignments, and a culminating paper and oral presentation where each individual reflects on his or her personal experience and demonstrates increased knowledge of the internship site.
